It's a Jungle Out There

Train your pets, run races, and boost your badges!

When you purchase a pet in Habbo, it's obviously not aware of life in the Hotel. So it's your job as the pet owner to train your pet so that it learns who the master of the house is (unless it's a cat, in which case, they're the master, not you) and how to behave in the presence of other pets.

And of course, pets also need some exercise, so you're now allowed to take your pets out of your rooms and bring them to your friends' flats.

How do I get started?

1. You can find your pets in a separate tab in your inventory labeled 'Pets'. If they're not in your rooms, they'll be here, snoozing away.

2. You can select your pet using the :chooser command or by clicking on it. If you want to start training your pet, click on the 'Train' button. Pet training has 20 levels. If you gain a level, it will never decrease.

For Level 1, You can only teach your pet 1 command and free it from the command you gave (that's what the 'Free' button is for). For every successful command your pet follows, your pet will gain points. That will show up as a yellow star on top of the pet's head. Your pet will gain experience for doing tricks, but it will also make it tired and hungry. So feed your pet regularly and make sure that it has a comfy bed to sleep in.

3. All pet foods now have nutrition points, which will boost up your pet's nutrition points as well as make it obey your commands faster. After your pet has eaten, you can start training it again.

4. Higher training levels means more commands for your pet to follow. Your pet will also obey quicker once you reach another level.

5. You can bring your pets to other Habbos' rooms, as long as pets are allowed in that room. When you leave the room, your pet automatically returns to your Pet Inventory. If someone kicks your pet out of the room, you'll also get kicked out. The only exception is when you have rights to a certain room. You can only take out 1 pet each time.

If you're allergic to dog or cat fur, you can always restrict pet entry in your room. Simply leave the box on the room infostand that says 'Pets are allowed' blank if you don't want pets in the room.

6. You can buy nests, toys, food, and water for your pets in the Pet Accessories section of the Catalogue.

7. You can show your affection to your pets (and to your friends' pets) by giving them Scratches. This boosts their energy points as well. You are only given 3 Scratches to give out each day. Your Habbo has to be at least 3 days old before you can give Scratches to other pets.

8. There's a new set of achievement badges for the budding pixel pet trainer. These are:

– Pet Feeding: How often you feed your pets
– Pet Trainer: How high your pet's training level has gone
– Pet Lover: The number of pets you own
– Respect-a-Pet: How many Scratches you've given out
– Scratching Post: How many Scratches you've received
