Everyday Engineering 4

You've got the whole world in your hands

iPhone 3G, Twitter, IMs… the world is getting smaller and smaller as our methods of communication become more and more advanced. Pretty soon, engineers could even come up with a microchip embedded into our brains that will immediately send out our thoughts to anyone across the globe. But what's science fiction now could very well become science in 10, 20, even 30 years from now.

But what about the present? We want to know how engineering has affected your everyday routine. Is it easier to prepare your food for school because of the microwave? Do you connect with your friends via Twitter to hold meetings and hash out group assignments? Tell us your story in 100 words or less and enter it into the competition form below. The 10 best stories we receive will be getting a Mad Science Desk delivered to their inventory.

And don't forget to drop by the Create2010 group page to check out what's brewing in the world of engineering. Who knows? You might even be one of the pioneers of the next great invention.
