A normal bulb uses 60 watts of energy per hour. If you turn it off for at least 1 hour a day, you're conserving almost 22,000 watts of energy. That's enough power to leave your TV on for your primetime shows for 1 month.
Environmentalists say that if you replace 3 normal incandescent light bulbs with a CFL, or compact fluorescent light, bulbs, it would be like taking 3.5 million cars off the road!
